ABOUT US

We are a group of industrial heritage enthusiasts and local people, interested in protecting this Scheduled Ancient Monument. We were formed on 23rd April 2009, with a constitution agreed by Cardiff Council.

ABOUT THE SITE

The Melingriffith water pump lies on Ty Mawr Rd, Whitchurch, Cardiff CF14 2BH, in a conservation area flanked by Forest Farm and Hailey Park, and easily accessed by the Taff Trail.

HOW TO GET THERE
Cycle: Follow the Taff Trail
Bus: Number 24/25 Disembark at the Railway Pub on Station Rd and follow the 'rail' direction below.
Rail: From Llandaff Station, walk down Evansfield Rd, turn right onto Ty Mawr Rd. Follow the road past the Royal Exchange pub, carry on and pass under the 'black bridge',where you will pick up the Taff Trail. Keep walking until you reach the water pump, which will be on your left. (Total distance approx 1/2 mile and flat.)
Road: From M4 Junction 32 (Coryton) Follow the road to Whitchurch village until the roundabout. Take the fourth exit onto Velindre Rd, past Velindre hospital on your right and over a mini roundabout. Carry on until the road starts to descend. take the left turn onto Ty Mawr Rd. travel about 400m and the water pump will be on your right.
Road: From Llandaff or Whitchurch Once on Station Rd, turn onto Evansfield Rd which is opposite the Railway Pub. Follow the directions as 'Rail' above'.
